... I also need a name for the new car (green & white one) Wave ? Curve? Obnoxious? Any thoughts? ... On the subject of Razor wheels, I notice a lot of Pros seem to prefer to run Fenders and Wide wheels opposed to Razors .. Reasons ? The rules dictate the wheel choices, plain and simple. Most classes are very specific on the allowed wheel mods, with only the Modified and Unlimited classes opening up to razor wheels, and only the Unlimiteds allowing bearings. As for a name, "Anaconda" comes to mind. I’m aware of the Classes having wheel limitations , maybe I’m just not remembering the cars I ran against correctly. Speaking of which, I looked for the 2016 video of the class I ran in and it seems to be gone. I’ll have to ask about that at DD4H’s place.

You know how sometimes things are going great and then suddenly ......... Ya’ my day went to hell when I was doing some touch ups on Snake Bite’s paint job. Seems the Clear I used in 2016 isn’t compatible with what I have now and well .... I’m gonna have to strip and repaint the car completely. So I’m thinking the same paint job but in red and orange to make it more obnoxious. Plus I’m still trying to remember why I notched the body at the left front axle hole

Not sure why you messed with it. Probably a perfectionist like the rest of us.
I have been having a hella of a time with paints lately.
I have done one car three times. It is a combo of picture and paints.
I've done some research on spray paints and found some interesting info.
I'm not, here to bad mouth any brands or types of paint publicly. But, I have just about had it with one. I'm attempting one more car. It has one more stage before clear. I'm literally waiting days between. If this one goes south I will likely never use again (on anything important anyway)!
As long as "Snakebite" cured I cannot believe you had any problems at all. But, if you are not already aware if it doesn't say enamel it is assumed to be lacquer. But, I found out recently that is not the case. But, neither lacquer or this new catalyzed urethane can be sprayed over enamel. And, I have had trouble with this catalyzed urethane (that I thought was lacquer) over the same brand etc lacquer.
Guessing you probably don't remember what you used before. What clear did you use today?

You are correct, I have no clue what brand or type of clear I used prior. Cured .. I would have thought two years would have been long enough. On the up side I can fix some body issues it had and (hopefully) improve on the shape and paint work. Also remembering how poorly my "Coffin Nail" (black car) showed on Race videos, I've taken to the idea of brightly colored cars for now. If I was really going to use my brain I'd use my airbrush instead of spray cans and really paint something wild, but I don't have time to Monkey with it.

Yeah... I am rather shocked that the paint would be reactive at all after two years... The notch on the front wheel is typically to bring it (the DFW) in toward the rail to help keep the rears off it. It sounds like a lot of the "pros" are no longer bothering with it.

Ok that seems right. Yes, I would think it would be easier just to add extra washers behind the rears if space is needed.

IMO You really don't want to make the car any wider than it needs to be by adding washers to the rears. The " pros" don't have to worry much about their cars rubbing the rails because they tune their cars pretty well, and run on a near perfect league track. Their cars are also staged perfectly. Also, by not notching the FDW their front and back wheels are inline, and their fenders can be made straighter with less overall drag.
On the other hand, a Scout car, on a Scout track, staged by a Scout or Scout leader.....it's much safer to notch the DFW to add a little clearance to the right rear.
