But, it is possible to do the things you mentioned. Here are some pics of such a completed car. Added tip: If you are planning on adding to wheel wells, do it before you put fender assembly on car. it is difficult to file sand etc once they are installed. And, getting them perfectly round again is near impossible. I then install to give strength to shape. Make sure you do all your fitting with wheels before you even think about installing inner fenders. Or, you will be hating life attempting to clearance things in the inner wheel well. (There will likely still be some of that. But, it can be kept to a minimum. Additionally, depending on how you intend to paint, if you get you tollerences really colse, before painting you might consider masking some wheels and installing while primering and painting. Otherwise, the thickness of the paint will affect this area. Another reason I believe they are left larger on DE Nellie Faye fenders. B I somehow missed these photos. Nice work Eagle! That thing looks hot!!

Not sure what you are up to with the dragster. But, start a thread. Post up some pics and let's get your questions answered. I'm certain that between your talent and skill level and the TEAMs input you will have one incredible looking dragster racing at the 2018 Concept Challenge hosted by the 3rd Annual Soul Boxer Invitational. You can run your Nellie Faye style car anytime. But, you might not get another shot like this to run a dragster. Who knows, your concept might inspire a new class. Only time will tell. I have so many tasks I need to do, repairs, deadlines, earning a buck and piles of others. Example, last night I worked on cards due Sept 1 that I started in April and after making some headway I switched over the messing with the fenders for a bit. Then on to a different task for awhile. This morning I'm mapping out the tiles (floor repair) for the entryway as that's a task that's been taking too long. This week I have to start tiling the floor, paint something to earn some money, finish the cards ASAP and hopefully make some graph paper to layout the Dragster design. Keep in mind the purple car in the video is made from parts I bought in 2016 and haven't had enough time or reason to build until the video idea came around. so the Dragster could happen at any moment or years from now, like my daily life, it's an unknown Lol! I think that we may have a lot in common, George.

Joe, If I had put the weights in right, maybe, I wouldn't have finished 2 places behind you at MA. Hopefully I will have some blue wheels, to complete the look I was going for, soon.

The standard Orange, yes. But you must not have seen the new super bright colored wheels that are out. Actually, these might not come in Orange π Super bright glow colors for 2018 Those are the four new colors. I believe the only ones that glow are the white ones. We pick ours up tomorrow. So, Ill let you know. Yes, I thought there was a new Orange , but there isn't π’ Bummer. The white ones I hear glow in the dark, the rest glow under UV light. It'll be quite some time before I can afford several sets of $40 race ready wheels again. Eventually.

"Altered" as in I took about a 4 or 5 mm strip out of the Dominant Wheel side of the car as shown in this photo. I see it now! Those fine lines of yours took mine eyes away from your design modification. So, will this be a DLFW? Lol, ya' the lines really mess with your eyes some when you look at the actual car. Yes, DLFW.

If whatever they put in the plastic to make them glow makes them lighter than maybe. Otherwise, it is going to take a whole lot of other things glowing to make a night race (dark room) worth watching. And, if they don't stay glowing for a long period of time ... But, I'm sure you, Joe, and maybe even me can come up with something to put on a show. One of those Hot Wheel loops added without telling the participants for example.

None of it makes it faster , just cooler for the kids

I am a kid! I'm just big for my age.
Where do you even get said UV light? How long do they have to be under the UV light to glow? How long will they glow for? My youngest wants to know what color they glow? Is the Scout shop going to sell glow in the dark decals? Tape for the track? paint?

White wheels if true "glow in the dark" should absorb any light really and glow in the dark (generally whiteish greenish color or purplish under black light) the other colors are likely only "florescent" (glow) under "black light" in their color ... like the `60s black light posters. As for paints and tapes, White generally glows with a light purple cast under black light , most anything else has to be a "fluorescent" color, look up fluorescent paints or black light paints. NOTE : many might not work well for painting a car except for fun.

TECH QUESTION: On a standard car build the rear axle center to tail of car is normally 7/8 (as I understand it) is there a major reason the rear axle couldn't be move a bit further back ? Say withinn 5/8 to the tail.

The rear axle is typically 5/8β from the rear in most league cars. 1/2β weight pocket for two rows of 1/4β cubes and a 1/4β axle spar with the axle in the middle.

The wheelbase varies on cars, but is typically around 4.75β to 5β.

Don't think you got the 7/8" on this forum. 5/8" is the standard around here. Just remember the back of the wheels then becomes the back of the car or the start of the 7". If you go less tha 5/8" you have really limited the amount of weight you can put behind the rear spar without increasing the height of the body.
