I remember that pic of Wilma (and Fred). I'm thinking that you linked to it years back, Gee-Dub.

Very nice work. I need something like that for our Black Dahlia car.

Still more shaping, sanding and primer. Thinking the shape is pretty good, just need to putty a couple bad spots in the wood and smooth it all out with a final sanding and primer coat. My last car had a notch in the body on the steering side at the axle, I'm guessing it was to get the dominant wheel to the rail before the orders. I think I'll just double stack the rear washers on this body instead of the notch up front ... unless some can give me reason to do otherwise. I also can't remember what wheels and axles it's drilled for, so I'll need to check that first.

Starting to think I might have a problem with my car builds.
Near as I can tell the bodies have 2.8 mm bores for the axles (standard BSA?). Problem I think is the fancy axles I have are 2.21 mm and the other set is 2.27 mm. I don't know if I can get them in the body bores without a sledgehammer.
I also don't know if I have any wheels that will fit the 2.27 axles, at least none loose enough for graphite.
The body is a Pro drilled block, so I'm not wild about the idea of chasing the bore with a larger drill bit.
Im open to ideas on how to sort out this issue.
I also stuck my dumb thumb right into the wet primer, hoping I can sand that out, out of primer too.

I am used to taliking about axles in inches. Most pro axles are 0.090" where they insert into the body. The part the wheel rides on is 0.093" So your 2.21 mm and 2.27 mm axles should not be a broblem. If anything they are too loose in the bore as a 0.093 is 2.3622 mm is what most would use. Can you explain the 2.8 mm a little more? I hate when I touch paint that is still tacky. I am too impatient and so would do that a lot. Now I am just too lazy and don't use paint.

In inches : Axles Bores - 0.081 (assuming a good reading) Axel sets I have are (at the body end near point) - 0.085 (crappy ones) / 0.087 (better ones) / 0.089 (best ones)

Well I think I worked out the Axle issue by just progressively inserting small to large axles and working them a little. My razor wheels still don't feel right on my best axles and spin slower(with graphite) than the next size down and I'm not ready to try oil yet (no funds for it). I still might be short a set of wheels though ... I have some PineCar brand mag wheels, but I'm not equipped to true them up. Mean while, I did a quick mock up ... Am I a Race Car yet?

I see razor wheels. I guess I missed that point. That helps to clear up some of the confusion on my end.

Hooray ! Found the reasonably race ready BSA wheels I thought I had, so I can do three cars and retire the Coffin Nail car (it would never be fast anyway). Mean while made progress on the new car’s paint job. It needs wet sanding and a final coat, but weather is too cold to get a smooth finish. Also thinking I may modify the paint on “Snake Bite” (Red & Black car) to improve it a little. I also need a name for the new car (green & white one) Wave ? Curve? Obnoxious? Any thoughts? P.S Anybody know about Razor Wheels? Is it the Flat-ish side or the dished side that faces the rail? I can’t remember and haven’t found clear info on this. On the subject of Razor wheels, I notice a lot of Pros seem to prefer to run Fenders and Wide wheels opposed to Razors .. Reasons ?

Most classes are very specific on the allowed wheel mods, with only the Modified and Unlimited classes opening up to razor wheels, and only the Unlimiteds allowing bearings. As for a name, "Anaconda" comes to mind.
