I think rears equally apart/away from the rail with the front more narrow...let the light front take the hits and the rear to stay clear as much as possible.

Well... I am curious just how many lefties are out there... We need a poll! However... I think the onus is on you to switch it... so it may be that you are a lefty, but should keep that part to yourself during posts like these... and refer to it as the "right rear" even though it is your left rear. Clear? LOL! That made my day. If you only knew of all of the things that I'm keeping to myself you wouldn't ride me as much for me being a "lefty". Actually I'm really a "refty" or maybe a "lighty" because I'm right handed but go goofy-style with the left front wheel.

Also, I must confess. One of the new cars for council is going to be a left steer car as I screwed something up and it works out better.

We call that the "right rear" since we assume a right DFW... it makes things easier. So why call it DFW. Shouldn't you just call it "right front". I thought we have DFW, NDFW, RWBDFW and RWBNDFW. Or was it DFW, NDFW, DRW and NDRW. RWBNDFW being "rear wheel behind non dominant front wheel". At least that's how they would refer them over at MNOP.

I'll use sign language instead. Wait, that doesn't work on the computer. How about FWT for Front Wheel Touching, TDDC for These Darn Derby cars, or MWHTDDC for My Wife Hates These Darn Derby Cars.

Got it! The "Trailing Wheel"? I'd just call it the Dominant rear wheel or DRW.

I find that to be a misnomer...
Wouldn't the left rear be the dominant one?
I suppose it may depend on how it is weighted... which should make it thoroughly confusing...
How about "non-hypotenuse- ish" wheel for the trailing one?

DFW is just quicker than front wheel...
but calling it the DFW should be outlawed... it seems redundant... it seems redundant...

Most four wheelers will still have a DFW with the NDFW not touching the ground as solidly. Its not impossible for both wheels to sit perfectly evenly but one will normally be dominant .

The league cars all have only one front wheel...
The other front wheel is just decoration.

Dammit, Joe! How are we now going to distinguish between DFW - Dominant Front Wheel and DFW - Decorative Front Wheel?!
