Here is the DT thread.... Hope you have an hour to read it all. lol! rail ridingI haven't been able to read the whole thing...from what I read so far I am very impressed about the various ideas shared and the cohesiveness of all of those sharing. Many different individuals shared interesting information. Why is something like this so uncommon now? The most similar idea building exercise is VK and his cheap wheel turner idea. On which forum...this one!

On which forum...this one! Most folks aren't in it for the exploration. They don't want to know the how and why of what works. They just want to know what works so they can get fast. And the quickest road to that is by imitating what the other fast guys do. And if you have an idea that goes against the accepted wisdom, a pox upon you, filthy spreader of misinformation.

Nah, I think it's always just been a different mindset from folks over at DT vs the ones on PDO.

I did some research after reading this thread a while back, and found out some interesting stuff... I will start a category on the hidden side of the forum named "conspiracy theories".... but I don't want to be the only one posting on it!

Looking at my car rolling on my high tech, plastic, test track it seems one would like the dominant rear to ride closer to the rail to keep the wheels from scrubbing the track as much. Is it better to keep equal distance just in case it gets squirrelly the rears won't contact the rail?

Is it better to keep equal distance just in case it gets squirrelly the rears won't contact the rail? We call that the "right rear" since we assume a right DFW... it makes things easier. I believe you want to split the rails with the rears in order to maximize clearance distance.

I run a left dominant front so I scratched my head as to how to refer to that rear side because you've been trying to teach me the lingo for a while Laserman. Since PWD is my second language I may mess something up now and then.

Well... I am curious just how many lefties are out there... We need a poll!
However... I think the onus is on you to switch it... so it may be that you are a lefty, but should keep that part to yourself during posts like these... and refer to it as the "right rear" even though it is your left rear.
Clear?
