The rail riding Genesis is disputed like most things in this hobby. But here is the story I found most credible is it was first conceived and implemented by a racer called Warp Speed. I believe he did have some part of the early derby work business . His name is Jay Wiles and he works in the Randy Dorton engine shop at Hendrick Motorsports. Track him down and get him to come tell us some stories!

Those are shields I make. I didn't want to piss people off, so I don't advertise them. So much for not pissing people off I guess. The washer snaps into the shield...no glue needed. The shield is retained on the axle...(all but EVO pro axle doesn't work as well due to the extra groove) *!#%!!!. My Pro's just arrived 2 days ago!!!!!!! How do you get the cover to work on the bent axle with a bending groove?

Now that's a name from the past for sure. He had some innovative designs back in the day. Offset weighting on cars. Several things.

If you guys ever get really bored, go over to the Derby Worx forum and go back to the oldest posts and start reading and looking at the names. You can tell when racers came in and left from the hobby. I wish the links to pictures from back then still worked.

I found some old posts on there from Murph, discussing modifications to the DW Pro Hub Shaver to cut a coned face.

There is a thread over at DT called something like "3 wheel running" or "running on 3 wheels" ... it is a very long thread but a fascinating read...
In The thread Warp Speed along with some guy named Terry, Joe from CT, Stephen's Dad decode modern rail riding as they are going.
VK, do a search on the Zeeb forum for the word "leapfrog".
It starts with a question about an anomaly... a car that was designed to go straight but turned out faster when it had toe in...
I have my conspiracy theories on what happened afterwards... but WarpSpeed went on to Trademark the name "rail riding" and went into business with DW...
maybe search "leapfrogging"

The article I read had quotes from WarpSpeedINC. Which articles? gotta bend the axle a little closer to the point in order for the MB shield to work on the DFW.

I found the article a few yrs ago and it had been copied to the net from a 2004 article somewhere. I remember WarpSpeedINC seemed to be the author of it. It stands out to me because I tried searching that company and didn't get anything. I've been trying to find the article again now but seems others are finding info even older than that. I think I'll make up a BSA axle for our front wheel rather than spend the jing on a new axle set.

Good advice Laserman. MB will beat me by .04 to .06 anyways.

Did Glenn just write that? No way, that was posted back in November '15. Shortly after I joined the 'Zob Forum.
