That is a very interesting piece of tungsten. Very jealous.
Can't wait to see this build completed.

For the love of Christ!!!
Thank you Skywalker!! At least someone is curious about what is going on here!
This wonderful piece of tungsten is a gift from Microbrush...
It is 18g/cm3 and one of a kind... (because he told me that isn't making another one. lol!)

Yes, it came with a certificate. It's 18.02 g/cm3. And yes, unless someone wants to pay me a lot of money I don't plan on making another one. I do have more stock though..just saying.

So there you go davet, you can make a tappered rear....is it faster? Didn't you wonder that a long time ago?

I did wonder that at one time but it was not based on anything scientific, just wonderment. I've got so many ideas that pop into my head regarding these darn cars then I see pics like above and I just lay down and go to sleep. Beautiful car! Another thing that absolutely fascinates me when I see pics like that is how do you guys find time to build stuff like that and create your ideas. I was looked at cross the other day by my wife when my weights showed up at the house. Good thing she doesn't see what shows up at work...right Microbrush.

The tapered rear, the solid tungsten weighting, and the balsa fill in the right spots. Make sure those fenders are offset enough not to drag the rail. I still have to fix my Street Stock with those fenders.

Thanks Scott... and many thanks to Microbrush for crafting this engine for me.
In the past, I have sliced off parts of the lower region of the fenders (mainly on the trailing and front fender around the front wheel) on the "fender Flower" fenders... in combination with "cheating" the angle of it to slightly avoid the rail, and then biasing the sanding to even things out a bit... but... I am not sure that I am a fan of it.
I used a different fender for the trailing... I cannot remember the name of it right now but it works well... The front fender for the DFW is a Fender Flower" and it needs work. The Fender Flowers for the rear are good though.
I am going to put that into the description for those fenders on the Shapeways site. Thanks Scott!

Just take an exacto knife and notch the fender a little. It only takes a few seconds and cuts very easy with a sharp blade.

Gee whiz. I guess you mean "someone of import", as you got all pissy when I asked about the nose... With a tungsten tail, and the Puma weight(s?), where is this leaving you with a CoM? Just the one weight, or is the other one not mounted already in the pic? Finally, have you or Jeff submitted the paperwork to the patent office yet?

Sorry Crash...
Sometimes I think you are pulling my leg... so I get pissy as a result... (I swear that I misinterpret your words more than anyone else)...
Other times... you ask questions when I am still building/ designing it...
So I get all pissy because I don't have an answer for you.
Just 1 Cub weight which is used to get more weight behind the axle line as well as take car of the bias.
I might just leave the patent to Jeff on this one... Those things are too expensive!
Dunno about the COM yet.. Still fiddling with the nose and fenders. Betcha it could be super aggressive if I were more weight conscience...
So many things that I wished that I did differently on this car... I often just start building these cars with a few plans in mind... and settle on an idea mid build.
I may have to cut the engine off at some point in order to put it on another car... A car that would be featuring Cortes Fenders...

I think I missed a conversation someplace... Cortes fenders?
This car is spectacular so far.
