Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls I have just checked out of all three places for this school year. half my garage is now filled with derby/school stuff. I have no idea whether I'm going to be able to finish off my big rigs or cars. I still have to finish a 3 unit class so that I will have enough units to qualify (if I accept one of the positions that require them).
How I'm going to package and get things to Omaha??? And, I have no idea if I will be able to make the flight myself.
I still don't know where I'm going to stay or how I'm going to get around. But, I'm excited to have a plane ticket, have some of the fleet registered, and plan to fly out on Wed.
Other than MOTM, I have not attended a national event before. From what I've been able to tell there is nothing like MA.
I hope to learn lots. If I'm able to host another West Coast Grand Prix I'm certain the information alone will be priceless.

Making progress.
I got Big Red - my trick body assembled and box made yesterday.
I cut the underside of the nose of Stars and Stripes and inserted a 1/4" cube and about twice that volume in tungsten putty in the nose. Doing my best to get some weight on the NDFW. It was so light on the tuning board it just skated wherever it wanted to go.
We'll see what I can pull off today.

Second car assembled and box created. Think I'm going to go with Eagle Rising. Haven't decided for sure if that is the final name or not.
Fixed broken wheel on Stars and Stripes. It separated like a retread on a full scale big rig. I glued and sanded it to almost undetectable. Then I found a spare I could use.
Lots to still get done.
Two days left before departure.

Super cool Wes! I hope to arrive tomorrow with cars and rigs ready to help, learn and race.
I don't know if I'm going to get a graphite build in this year. If I do it will either be a last minute swap or a last minute build.
I don't know if I'll be able to take all planned. I have 3+ Big Rigs, 3+ Big Rig B,s , 4 adult oil, the two girls cars, and the 2 PI cars. Haven't heard back as to if Joe wants to run them in the Nationals (SS), MA Adult Oil, or both.
Today is pack it up day.

What a day!
Special thanks to Whodathunkit. He sent me out some of the original Puma weights for one of my Big Rigs. Got the cab all weighted up and found clearance issues. Doubt I'll ever be able to test my original theory on Expeditious". There is a likely unfixable clearance problem. I'm going to run it and see what happens. If it is centered and runs perfectly straight it should be fine.
Spent a lot of time checking things and reinventing the "space case" to hold 8 big rigs and 8 cars.
Now I have to figure out what tools and back up supplies I think I can get in carry on and/or regroup the only small areas I have in space case to hold the questionable items.
Then I guess I should figure out what I'm going to take to wear...
Fly out early tomorrow. I hope I and the fleet arrive race ready!

Well I made it through security. I had to throw away my pocket knife. Forgot to put in checked bag.
I know they say it is for safety..., but I’ve carried a pocket knife since the 6th grade.
Guess I’ll have to purchase a new Swiss Tinker.
I was told they won’t let me on plane without a “regular mask”. So, not sure yet if I’m headed to Omaha or not.

Good news is I arrived in Salt Lake City. Had to be bused due to construction. Ran from one end of terminal to other only to find out plane is an hour late.

I responded, at least I thought I did. I wrote a reply. Where it went nobody knows.
Yes I made it. You likely saw me at times if you watched the feed.
I was behind the 6 lane camera filming for the live stream most of the time.
I got really busy on arrival and didn’t post like I thought I would be able to.
Hopefully I’ll be able to post some pictures and more info soon.
Headed home today.

Pinewood Illuminati entered in the Street Stock Class in The Nationals(pros) on Fri racing against the fastest 4 guys(each racing 2 cars) and took 9th with The Collaborator. Thanks to Joe for taking care of the entry fees.
On Saturday here are their results:
Jennifer 3rd Place in Scout Oil 3rd Grade.
Vanessa 6th Place in Open Youth Oil
Pinewood Illuminati and Doug made it to the Finals (Top 6) with 2 cars. The Collaborator took 3rd and Golden Eagle took 6th in Adult Oil.
In Big Rig Division Doug set a new track record and took 1st and 2nd.
In Big Rig B Division Doug broke his own track record and swept the podiums.
None of this would have been possible without the help and support of the following:
Scott Offerman, Joe Puma, Mike McGuire, Mark Robison, and Terry Cooper. I have to thank my aunt and uncle for being awesome hosts and my uncle for shuttling me around.
