I guess you got the hang of solidworks? Sweet looking car Ha! I wish! Rhino and Keyshot. Thinking I want to add a better connection to the body... printed in steel it will be heavy.

Cool to see phase 1 complete! Did you put the centering inserts in the plastic? Have you programmed the CNC for the bodies yet? I'm guessing this is 4 1/2" ish wheelbase. How long before this and/or other wheelbase parts are avail?
PS The more I think about it, the more I think shields could be built in as well. But, I know some rules require viability. So, I'm torn. But, I think that if they were there a person could use Dremel to remove (if they needed to).

On the flip side: I'm discouraged, disappointed and concerned.
Everything I know about design, racing and marketing says that showing these pre-launch is risky to say the least. I would argue that the cat is out of the bag.
While I have advanced the ideas to I believe a patent-able level in my head, not having them available for sale and the proposal to large organisation discussed puts this at risk of being duplicated before next season.
So, while I hope it moves forward and is as big of a changer as I have envisioned, I am greatly concerned that this is no longer an idea shared between you, I and one other trusted friend.

Hi Eagle,
I have only pointed out the rear trailing fenders on this car...
This is a Standard wheelbase... so... rear axle .875” from the rear... 4.375” between the axles.

Any chance that trailing bit being made from Tungsten?
(Really like the finished look that gives the back, nicely executed Joe)

Thanks Frank...
Probably not tungsten... unless my lotto number comes up soon.

I had been thinking of something that took up the space behind the wheels. If printed steel couldn't it be thinner front to back?
If tungsten it would insert into rear weight pocket.
Remind me the next time we talk, and I'll explain an idea I've been playing with. I think you'll like it (especially since I now see what you've been playing with.
I've been wanting to tell you about it, but I haven't been able to reach you.

Not sure what the minimum thickness for printed steel is... probably around .06” ish

External walls: vertical walls, 0.03", horizontal walls, 0.02" for selective laser sintering machines.
Internal walls depend also on plate thickness but 0.03" is safe for all thicknesses

Joe, I haven't seen a rear bumper on a car like that since the days of the.. Studebaker's.
It really has the 1955 Studebaker rear bumper look to it.. cool idea there and is that metal X ?
