When the time came to make a pinewood derby car, I wanted a Paris themed car. So, my Dad cut a car the shape of the Eiffel Tower. I didn't think it looked anything like the Eiffel Tower, so I told him I didn't want to run the car,. I wanted a cool car with the Eiffel Tower on it. The thing was, I didn't want paint because I wanted to make it look perfect. So instead, I decided to laser etch a picture of the Eiffel Tower I found on the Internet on the car.
I really liked the results. I also wanted to keep the car unpainted so it wouldn't mess up the outcome of the laser etched Eiffel Tower.
My Dad said that he had black wheels ready to go, but I wanted to do the pink wheels to make the car stand out a little bit. The black wheels would have been faster because he had to hand cut the pink ones. Take me 2 Paris may be a simple thin car, but I hope it will be really fast. I can't wait to see my car race!
