Eagle Racing! A big congratulations to Eagle for having the most unique car on the track today! His car Aero used a mix of two styles of wheels... fenders... razor wheels... and it was blazing fast to boot! Nice work Eagle!

Nice to see a win by the home team!
Who makes the fat wheels with bearings?

Thanks Joe!
People there seemed to like Side Car as well!!
It was cool to see new ideas and concepts on the track. I wish things would have gone smoother and my missing cars would have made it.
I'm sure the talk has just begun, just remember pioneers always take the most arrows. With a little work I think we are on to something big.
Special thanks to Zeebzob for hosting the 1st Concept Challenge.
And, thanks to cofinnailracing. had it not been for his dragster drawing I would have never thought of running this configuration.

Also, thanks to all who participated in the event and especially in the Concept Class.
Shout out to PinewoodCNC. You now have your first proxy event under your belt. Onward and upward.
It was really cool to find out in the reveal that Micro had entered.
If everything had gone as it should I'm pretty sure that the Concept Class would have had more cars than any other class.

Eagle, would you tell us more about your build? How it was set up, parts used, etc...

Nice work Craig! Your car was looking good! Congrats on your first proxy! Not to take the focus off of Eagle capturing the first ever Concept Car Class... but please rell us about the weighted spoiler on the back of the car. Do you have some more photos? The ones that Peluso took did not do your car justice. I wonder if he did a shit job on purpose in the hopes of obtaining the coveted prized with his laughable Shmoo car “Flying Carpet”? A big thank you to team Zeebzob for organizing this historical event!

Hmm coming up short on the pictures, I'll send some when I get the car back. The idea was a zero turn car, with weight placement as high and as far back as possible. That would move your potential energy farther up the hill. I made some last minute changes which in looking back I shouldn't have because it was faster then my 1st place car this year. But it slowed it down and I didn't have time to mess with it any more before I shipped it. No worries though, for a car with zero steer and high center of gravity it didn't have any wiggles. That to me is prof enough that with proper wheel prep we can push these even faster on BSA wheels. Next time I'll get the wing correct, The original was too light and this was was positioned too far back so I had to cant it to get make the length requirement it made for more drag.
But I learned a lot designing this with eagle and I have though of a few more refinements to this concept I'll work out over the next few months. Right now it's back to the wheel lathe. Soon I'll be able to do custom wheels for anyone.

Whoa! Zero steer! That is totally amazing!!! Let’s continue this discussion in the Team FNG category! Live and learn I guess. We should have had a write up about our cars to explain the innovation. All we really had to go on was what we could see. I agree cool idea Craig.

And, I am super sorry the other cars didn't make it PinewoodCNC. I don't know what happened and I still don't know where they are. But, if I get them back I think we should race yours as is, My 3 similar, the one that's unfinished on my desk and Joe's. If we left them at Zeebs we could do it all the same time. Or, maybe I can get mine to Zeeb's to at least get a time to compare on the same track.
IT was in the rules for builders to send write ups. Apparently I was the only one who sent them in.
Concept Challenge will be better next time!!
And, PinewoodCNC working with you from the time we teamed up has been the best part of the whole thing. When these guys see some of the stuff we have talked about they are not going to believe it.
PinewoodCNC has mad skills in the design department. And, his ability to bring things to completion is amazing.
I know he spent a lot of time getting 2 bodies to me. And, I can't help but feeling that I let him down.
