In response to my good buddy Mojo's question as posed by his dark-side BASX car, I posit my answer. Unfortunately, the car will be handily defeated by Mojo's latest creation (We Have Cookies) in this month's NPWDRL Show Stopper competition found here. Mojo's "Who's Yer Daddy?"Skywalker's "I'm Yer Daddy"

This Street Stock features:
DD4H wheels & axles Evo Air Shields
but probably of greater interest to the Laserman fans
Laserman X4 laser cut body Laserman Surgical Strike Force Posse fenders
It tanked at last month's race, but I had neglected to offset the DFW fenders (brain fart as I concentrated on correcting the gap to the exclusion of rail clearance). An easy fix.
I don't expect it to light the track up, but should pick up a good bit of speed with some tweaking, and it looks cool if nothing else

The main image is a clever fan edit of the following scene, created after Disney paid George Lucas a bazillion dollars for LucasFilm. Mickey owns Vader now.

Ummmm.... Daaaaaaaaaannnnnng...
That looks about as cool (cooler) than any car that I have ever built!
I can see that there is a new aesthetic sheriff in town.
Some interesting ideas going on here, with the image on the bottom and a transparent cover.
I never seem to get my cubes lined up that well as you have... Is that part of the cover?
Clever...
The way you carried the theme throughout is nice, especially with the sarcastic jab of Disney/ Star Wars, and a left hook to Mojo.
Even the photos were very "dark side"
If you could carry this theme to other classes that you race, then it would be like Pink Floyd "The Wall".
With the album being a complete story for the first time, and not just a collection of songs.
A real beauty Scott.
I hope she runs fast for you.
Joe

I am beginning to think Skywalker does really good work.

Thanks guys! I have as much or more fun trying to come up with interesting designs or car names as I do trying to make them fast.
Joe, that was very flattering, but my cars nowhere near approach the creativity of your designs. I'm just slapping fancy stickers on a stick of wood, but it is fun.
It's been fun sparring with Mojo over Star Wars stuff. He was the first person I floated the concept to, and he got a good chuckle out of it.
I don't know how far I'd want to carry this particular theme, but that Pink Floyd/Wall concept where you would carry some narrative throughout a racing season would be an awesome thing to do. Cool idea.

Professor Moriarty, can you tell me off top of your head which fenders have the recess tech and are a direct replacement for the Surgical Strikeforce Posse fenders on I'm Yer Daddy? I looked around a bit, but I'm too lazy to look as carefully as I need to. I want to resurrect this car, but don't feel like taking the time to make these fenders work. I was hoping one of your newer designs had the same dimensions but with recess tech so I can just hot swap em. Thanks!

Love that car SW...
Not sure I ever got around to making those fenders with the recess...
I will have to look into it...
Maybe I can whip something up.

Don't spend too much of your time on this just for me though. I kinda like the look of the mixed materials on this car, but I can just build balsa fenders if I need to.

I would love to see the pics of this car. Apparently wherever they were hosted is no longer.

Was this car as fast as its cool looks?
I have no idea what is going on in the front circle. If I was a judge I would have to be sure there wasn't some kind of cheater mechanism in there.
It's probably just a distraction from that big motor. What size is it (wanting to figure out the calculator)?

Joe had forgotten to notch the underside of these fenders (and I didn't think about modifying them), so they rubbed the rail the entire length of the track. I think he designed a replacement with notches (but not exactly the same), but I never got back around to messing with it. Enthusiasm kinda zapped out of me after the work I put into this car, so I moved on.

It looks like you guys turn the DRFW away from the rail instead of towards it. This is unlike the multi million view online tutorial suggests. To me it makes more sense that none of your spinning wheels is touching the rail. Is there a thread somewhere on the forum I missed, would someone discuss here(not really wanting to hijack), or start a new thread discussing at least this technique as it appears dominant among forum members?
