I believe that he is. Seriously though, VK... I don't advise you waste your time. They will bully you out... they have it down to a science by this time. Maybe. But I can't not try. Not much to lose at this point. Here's a question: What are some possible communications channels that might reach Derby-interested folks that have yet to be tapped?

Want to hear something else...
Ever wonder who builds all those cars that scout dads buy on eBay?
Yep...the leagues are loaded with em.
But we are the bad guys somehow.
like I said... nothing is real in the leagues.

Remember when I said I wanted to build a poor man's wheel improvement device? Well, I haven't gotten far. But I do have variable speed spindle w/ collet nut that I hope to serve as the wheel holdy-and-turny part. The next big challenge would be something to hold the cutting tool (and allow it to be applied in a controlled fashion to the wheel.) Baby steps thus far, but here's what it's looking like. Need to buy some threaded rod to make the adjustment drive. And then I have to build a miniature one on top at a 90 degree angle. This thing is held together with the equivalent of JB Weld right now, but I will probably opt for something more permanent (silver solder?) if this works out. www.dropbox.com/s/th5uye8skc71wgz/VID_20170907_141643.mp4?dl=0

Have you seen this micro mini lathe for $110? linkI have! I was totally unable, however, to get any information about runout, tolerances, etc. Also there doesn't appear to be any way to adjust the spindle speed. Would be fun to play with one, though. I just suspect it to be not worth it.

Maximum diameter is listed at 20 mm. Pretty small wheel!
Edit- I see maximum diameter is also shown as 45 mm in the same listing. Wonder which is correct?

No, I think it is an interesting set up. I didn't find too much for information on it. If you can't stick an uncut wheel on it though it would be hard to work with. How well would a 12 volt larger motor turn? You can get those for cheap. You should be able to adjust the speed easily enough.

It says the motor turns 20000 rpm but the headstock turns 3000 rpm but then in "Features" it says " Motor support stepless speed regulation and positive and negative rotating". So there must be some way to add on a speed control.

I had one of those, either the machine was bad or my skills aren't up to speed but I couldn't get acceptable parts out of it
