Because I haven't posted a pic in a while and because I'm so proud of my boy: Brody is my 7 year old Tiger Scout, and this was his first car. I helped, of course, but I was surprised how much he was willing and able to do himself in his first year. I guess watching big brother helped a bit. He took 2nd at Pack and 1st at District and was pretty proud as you can see here. He raced it in Box Stock (did okay) and is entered in this month's Showstopper over at NPWDRL (shameless plug - click here) He has already begun designing his next car which is, much to my chagrin, still not a Star Wars themed car, but another Pokemon themed car.

We are working on Raingutter Regatta boats tomorrow for a race on Sunday. Yes, a Pokémon boat. Oh well. Anyone have any experience with these things? Think I have a few tricks up my sleeve but this is our first time so open to suggestions.

If you are using the new catamarans the later the better if your rules allow you to cut is much plastic off as you can. We took a drumel tool and hollowed out the pontoons and then captain off with a 16th play on top Then make sure you get a good coat of paint let it cure and wax it put two or three layers of wax you want that is slippery it's possible make a cup sale glue the cup sale with Hotmail rake to the plastic make the sale small so there is a condensed area to blow and we are five time pack in district champs both my kids

Sorry l was in a hurry and used speak to text No problem. Thanks guys. Just seeing all this but we've done most of that already. Hollowed out the pontoons with a 1/4 end mill. Sanded the fronts to point up away from the water. Put a coat of CA glue on them, sanded, then painted. Will apply my bore prep process to them in the morning. Haha. Cutting the sails at the bottom and gluing it to fit right into the deck. Not cupping, but only because my kids had designs they wanted for their sails that necessitate the sail remain upright. There should be enough of a cup to trap the air near the bottom. I hope...
