Came across this at Hobby Lobby. I think it could be a legit car that falls into the poorly worded rule over there. B-)

I was thinking it, but failed to say, I'd be willing to build it (if you're not in a huge hurry).

As I recall it, they changed their rules around and left everything wide open. I'd thought about building a top fuel dragster just to prove a point. But didn't take it beyond a thought — that would've been a lot of work for pretty much naught.
I liked this kit for the fact that it is not and open top... I'm just not sure which leagues it could race in.

Curious what you had planned on doing with the front end as far as body axle and wheels?

A narrow nose cut to match the bodywork, and then an aero-shaped crossmember for the axles. Pretty much the same plan as for the Prowler models I have on my shelf.
And another look at the APR rules shows it would be legal:

I don't think an F1 would be a good candidate for an SR/DS car. All the fins and spoilers are there primarily for downforce, and for the most part, we want almost no downforce on our cars (assuming a deduction in aero to achieve downforce). Not only that, but you'd have to enclose the cockpit; and there could be issues raised with the fact you're putting a roof on a car that didn't have a roof to begin with, and that roof would be unrealistically low. If I had my druthers, I'd change things up and take things most of the way back a couple years to allowing only muscle cars up to '78 (so as to include the Bandit's Screaming Chicken). This dragster is more of an effort to make a point about a poorly written rule set. If I do it.
