I'm gonna go there...
The X3 design is not nearly the period at the end of the aero sentence.
Down4Derby is probably approaching a way more aero design with his Double Vision design.
A difficult build to be sure.
Even still...
I think that this hourglass design should beat the hell out of an X3 in aero drag/ weight on the end of the long lever arm type thang.
Just my 2 cents.
