Just came across this chart for cost of a pint (or 500ml) around the world. Granted, I'm sure that a large number of the beers available in these places are utter pisswater. But I'm sure glad that none of us are trying to buy beer in the New Yo... Oh, sorry, Joe.  If only I didn't have scout meetings on Tuesdays, when it's $2 drafts at Fox & Hound. :/ |

I was surprised at the cost for a beer in Dublin. Especially since "beer" is pretty much the main thing I think of when I hear "Dublin".
My dream is to be sent to Germany for "work". (I lived there for six years as a kid — graduated high school there)

Oh, awesome!! How did you swing that? I was surprised at the cost for a beer in Dublin. Especially since "beer" is pretty much the main thing I think of when I hear "Dublin". My dream is to be sent to Germany for "work". (I lived there for six years as a kid — graduated high school there) The company I work for has employees on both sides of the pond, in various countries. When we get together for all-important meetings, our CEO tries to pick interesting locales. |

So you speak German Eric? I took it in High School and College and went over there for 4 weeks in high school. Did you ever have a beer at McDonalds? I had to just so I could say I had it there.

I can hardly wait for my next road trip across the country!

I went to an American High School there. Back in the day, there were something like a million military dependents living over there. I went to Würzburg American High School. Played football, wrestled, and swam all over Germany. All that to say, while I speak a good bit of German, I was never fluent, even though my Mom and Grandparents had emigrated from there. I don't remember actually ever getting a Bier at Mickey-D's. Just wasn't appealing there, I guess. Once these self-driving cars become the norm... That there is my nightmare, Joe. I like driving. Rather than making sure that people can drive, we are dumbing it down. It's hard enough to find a car with a stick now. It's just going to get worse and worse.  |
