Unfortunately the graphite flying all over the place cost our pack it's racing venue. We used to hold it in the schools gym like many do and apparently did not follow the "Leave No Trace" rule and did not get all the graphite off the floors. I don't believe that story, Kyle. Does anybody know this guy? True story. No reason to lie about it. I am a new guy here and I doubt that anyone here knows who I am. My name is Greg Kyle and I live in southern Indiana and I am a member of Pinewood derby Racers page on FB if you want to see who I am. I have only raced a league race one time then my wife came down with cancer. With her sick and having three kids I had to put my hobbies on hold. She is now healthy and my kids are getting older so I have been getting things together to get back into it. I have been lurking around the different forums since I got out of it to stay up on the latest and greatest things going on in the hobby. I was on Johns forum when your weights first came out. I can’t remember exactly where I saw the mention of your board but I came over and checked it out. I like the fact that you guys actually bounce ideas back and forth and share thoughts and thought that this could be a fun place to get involved with.

Welcome, @runeunner. You just happened to show up during a bit of a pinewood flareup... You're spot-on, though. This place is fantastic for bouncing ideas.

Hi Greg,
Welcome aboard!
Thanks for introducing yourself.
I am happy to hear that your wife is feeling better now.
You have certainly come to the right place.
This forum is where it's at when it comes to the latest and greatest things going on with plastic wheels and a stick of wood.
Please don't be shy and chime in more often.
I liked your bearing idea, but am skeptical as well.
Best regards, Joe

Sgt. Hulka: "One of these days, one of these guys might save your life!" Winger: "Then again, maybe one of us won't!"

That thread is funny. JD talking about how he kicked DD4H's arse in a race.

Welcome Greg! My son's name is Kyle. So glad to hear your wife is doing better! Thanks Micro! Kyle is a popular first name around where I live but not a very common last name. Gregory on the other hand is a very popular last name around here, so I get called Kyle Gregory all the time.

Which thread? Who is JD?
Oh... Delshanko...
See.. That is what I mean...
It is like Tide a Tide commercial where they go head to head with Wisk...
Meanwhile the same company owns both brands...
It is a subtle way of advertising and getting the name out there...
Nobody even remembers who wins the challenge... but they remember who the challengers were.

Nobody even remembers who wins the challenge... but they remember who the challengers were. Sweet. I'm saving my money, will instead just do trash talking. I just won next weekend's MA race. Whoot! I just won the FWU Race-oh de Mayo at MNOP! ******************* Your comment reminds me of a visit to Sam's Club I had a couple years ago. I'm just idling through the store, checking out what's there this time. I walked past the detergent section, and I see an asian-looking woman loading a flatbed cart with box after box of Tide. I said, " Ancient Chinese secret, huh?!"

I said, " Ancient Chinese secret, huh?!" Wow!! that is a blast from the past. Wasn't that in the 80's? I sometimes work with this super talented Chinese American guy originally from Illinois... He used to say "Never catch a falling blade" when a blade would roll off the table... One time this enormous lathe tipped over while we were moving it... and he adapted the phrase to "never catch a falling lathe"... lol Anyway... One day I asked him if that phrase is ancient Chinese wisdom... he said: "No, It's common fuckin sense".
