So how many people think that the real reason Box Stock gets no love is because it doesn't give John any pretense to sell parts?
Yes, yes, I know, John doesn't run the league anymore...but let's face it...he still has big pull with Joel.
Somebody comes along and is like "I wanna build a BASX car!" then John can designate the Shill-of-the-day to tell them, "Sweet, you need to buy these wheels and these axles and you're good to go, and then consider some Diamonds for when you get serious..."
Somebody's like, "I wanna build a Box Stock!" and, well, they need some BSA wheels and axles...all of which are available locally and cheap.
Hmm.

For me I'd say the appeal isn't there as much as you are more limited in speed. I'd like to "do my best." If that was the only way to race I'd do it. Given other options I'd pick a different class. That said, I like to make my own stuff, and less stuff to make with all out of the box parts being mandatory.
Oh, forgot...is there even any points?
Are you familiar with the show who's line is it anyway? Where everything is made up and the points don't matter?
On top of that I'm in NSC rules, so I'd concentrate on similar classes...if the local rules were similar to box stock I'd be more motivated to race it.

Here's my take on points... On top of that I'm in NSC rules, so I'd concentrate on similar classes...if the local rules were similar to box stock I'd be more motivated to race it. I'd love an NSC rules league class. Wish somebody would do it. Course, the "no material removed from the inside tread" rule means pre-2009 wheels don't fly, so the big boys won't go for it.

@ VK LMAO!!!! Yep... That is how I understand points as well... Only question is... Not sure if points count for the top 50 or if those are different points? Ah well... I will leave that one to the statisticians and the history books... Not even sure about the rules for Boxstock yet... but I know that it is cheap if you are running it, VK... So that works. Pretty sure fenders but no washers or glides... And cheap box parts... Sounds like a great class! Reading the rules now... Soooo..... Vitamin K Shields and sideweights are good? As long as the inner hub is rubbing wood?
