I wanted to make a wood version of one of those old Chevys but the rear wheels are pushed way far forward.

My dream is to have a variety of SR classes (similar to what APR did). 40s and 50s cars. Pony cars. Muscle cars. Exotics. Most likely as a rotational theme. "For the Fire Series, we'll be running cars from the 40s and 50s! Let's see those lead sleds!"
In fact, when I bought the Calliente Charger to build, I expected that the NPWDRL would be switching from only the three models ('68 Shelby Mustang, Plymouth GTX, and 70 1/2 Camaro), the rules would be changed to include cars up to '74 and in 1:25 scale only. I got the car with the longest NTRA (nose to rear axle) length I could find and still be <= 8.25".

No painted windows! Finally!
Painting the windows takes it down a few notches in my book... just sayin.

I wish Skippy Kicky would build a chassis and race the Viper ACR I put together and painted for him... Hmm. I could probably sneak a pic of it here... You'll note that the windows are all clear (including the sides). It *is* how I plan to build all future SRs. Though probably no more decapitating drivers. Okay. Once more. But that's it.

I'll be working on this real soon. I can't wait to complete it. I've been slowly rebuilding a new chassis for Fast Forward, then it's next on my list for SR. This car is amazing!

I guess I need to learn to be patient too, huh?

One year later... it is racing tonight, but needs a lot of work still, I wanted to put it in for the show stopper. I’ll try to get some pictures up later. Sneaky tribute name for the car... “Crashing Wings”.

Thumbs up, Skippy! I was really excited to see her on wheels and racing. Too bad she got nervous and had the shakes.
That model was the most challenging build I've done. And I'm thrilled that you like it!

Best looking Street Rod ever! One of the best trades I’ve ever made. I’ll keep working on it to get it up to speed. I rushed it to get it into last nights race. It’s got all sorts of clearance issues in the chassis.
