I had a few weeks with no superglue on the fingers so figured it was time to start a new build. BASX car in the making.

First BASX car nearly complete. Just need to glue on the washers, lube and put on the wheels. Speaking of lube. Anyone care to share your process for applying the oil. It’ll be my first time. I have some oil from DE (big thanks to Micro) and a large syringe. I know you want to keep the wheels and axles as clean as humanly possible. I have jig for the axles. I assume just spray and leave to dry before lubing with oil. How Long does it need to dry? Where and how much oil should be applied?

DE oil is BBE and I am fairly certain is the same as what MaxV calls "Pro Extreme Krytox". See below for Joels video on how to use it. www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5&v=28aFd7lZukc&feature=emb_logoRegarding the Jig. Try to get a thin but even coating. Like wheel prep this is not as easy as it would seem. It takes practice. Let dry for 10-15 minutes while covered up so lint and dust don't adhere to them. Scott

What kind of tape/vinyl did you use? Curious did you apply then trim? Other? It looks like you painted the sides after you applied the wrap.

I cut it in half then applied and trimmed the vinyl. I used a sharpie on the sides after applying the vinyl.

I have a whole package of different color Sharpies I bought (never opened). I was going to switch to foam, tape and Sharpie. So, far the only thing I have used the colored tape for is the bottom of the cars.

It's more of a fit finish thing for me. It is much harder for me to build an un-pained car like Joe does then it is to smooth and clean up with paint... They say a satin or dull finish is in. But, I've never really gotten in to it. And, although it may cover some things when it gets to PWD smoother is better.
If I go all Sharpie then it will be harder for guys to tell which cars are yours.
Who knows maybe a PI entry will be a CCR look alike. You never can tell.
Has anyone ever tried painting over Sharpie? Curious now. Maybe I'll Sharpie one while it in in test mule status. You've always told me that helps you hide that top secret stuff you've got going on.
