Now that I'm $1,000 richer any advice on cnc routers? I'm clueless when it comes to this stuff just hoping to save a ton of time on bodies and fenders. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Anthony

Thanks, Anthony We don't need you getting any faster. Might I suggest a grinder and hatchet for future body and fender projects. I also heard jackhammers were excellent for axle holes. Any open box previously returned Harbor Freight tools will work nicely.

I know ironband purchased a hobbyist one. I also know their are in expensive ones about the size of a half sheet of plywood.
I believe Joe will have the best info in this are.
You could also purchase a lot of CNC'd bodies from him for that $1000.
Remember it isn't just the tool. You also have to have the files. This usually means you need software to create them. This then requires experience to use the design software.
Please keep us posted.

I have no software and no clue so far!

Anthony, please post a photo of the car when you get the chance. I would really like to see how the fenders turned out.

castororacing awesome photos ! It's nice to see the progression of the build. Did you run both cars, or just the fastest one?

castororacing awesome photos ! It's nice to see the progression of the build. Did you run both cars, or just the fastest one? The red car was about 2 thou faster so I messed with he black one. I only slowed it down and then cracked the rear spar taking it apart so many times. Couldn't get it back up to speed so kept it home.

I bet those fenders are pretty strong as well, they're basically balsa plywood fenders. Nice out of the box thinking !
