So...looks like Krytox GPL 100 is not being produced anymore. All of the sources that I'd found previously no longer have it. This is disappointing, since it means that offering this oil kit isn't gonna be feasible anymore. Unless, of course, some kind of alternative oil is discovered.
Maybe I should ask an industry rep what they'd recommend as an alternative to GPL-100? Seems odd that they'd just drop the product without something else to offer.

What is Chuy experimenting with? GPL-100, or something else?

Krytox GPL-101 will still be in production and available. It is a not too far off on viscosity and might not be much slower than GPL-100 (12.4 cSt GPl-100 and 17.4 cSt GPL-101). With some additives maybe it can be as fast.

Just not enough use of that Viscosity class of oil (ISO 5). I guess the pinewood derby community is about the only ones using it.

Same ISO grade 7 as Krytox GPL 101. They do not have a lower grade, but it should be similar to GPL101

It's more expensive than GPL 101, so if the former is available, maybe that's the better choice. Incidentally, all of the sources I checked seemed to be out of the 101 as well. Do you know of any other ISO 5 oils? Gonna be running cars on sewing machine or trumpet valve oil at this rate.

Not Any other ISO 5 PFPE oils. There are silicone oils that are ISO 5 and lower, but I believe they tend to evaporate quickly.
